Gaura Purnima Maha Prasadam - 25 Mar 2024

Gaura Purnima marks the joyous arrival of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the Golden Avatara, a significant celebration for Gaudiya Vaishnavas. In 1486 AD, on the full moon day of Phalguna, Sri Chaitanya manifested in Sridham Mayapura as the son of Sri Jagannath Mishra and Srimati Sachidevi. Predicted in scriptures, Lord Krishna took the form of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to propagate the congregational chanting of the Holy Name, specifically Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare / Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare.

This divine incarnation, described as the most munificent, introduced the Sankirtana Movement, emphasizing the joyful chanting and dancing of the Holy Name, offering a path to spiritual perfection without discrimination or stringent requirements. By engaging in this devotional practice, one can transcend the negative influences of the current age and experience a higher taste, breaking free from the material shackles that bind us.
