In the auspicious month of Magha (between Feb and March), on the Trayodashi tithi, just after Vasant Panchami which marks the coming of spring, signifying light, peace, prosperity and knowledge in the form of warmth and bloom, appears the most munificent form of Lord Balaram, Lord Nityananda. He is an embodiment of compassion and His Lotus Feet give the conditioned souls the soothing moonlight of millions of moons.
Lord Nityananda appeared in Ekachakra dham, to parents Devi Padmavathi and Hadai Pandit. Ekachakra dham became glorious because of His appearance and everyone there experienced unending joy after His advent. Lord Nityananda performed inconceivably enchanting pastimes first in Ekachakra, after which he travelled to various places of pilgrimage and then joined Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in Shridham Mayapur and together the two brothers inundated the entire universe in the loud and ecstatic chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra.
